This procedure applies to network printers directly connected to the network, in a Windows XP computer.

Installation

  1. Go to the Printers and faxes control panel, and then click Add printer
  2. At the wizard, select Local printer and disable the automatical detection checkbox
  3. Then select Create a new port with type Standard TCP/IP Port
  4. Enter the server hostname
  5. Select the appropriate manufacturer and model from the list (e.g. HP Color LaserJet 2500 for Arcoiris)
  6. And finally set the printer name to something meaningful

Drivers

In the intranet shared folder \\inode1.isrnet\drivers printer drivers not included in the XP distribution can be found. Namely the Ricoh Aficio SP C410DN and the HP Color LaserJet 2500., You'll have to download it and unzip it; then select Have disk and Browse to the folder of the unziped files.

Printing in both sides (duplex)

If the printer supports, PLEASE set it up according to How to set duplex printing as default so that it prints in duplex mode by default.
